
We were consulted for Beyond the ‘Greenlash’: Rethinking public engagement for 2025, a short think-piece written following a meeting of researchers, strategists and communication specialists, and intended to improve climate communication strategies.
People have not stopped caring about climate change, but it has plummeted as a priority relative to the cost of living and health. The political consensus has frayed and opportunistic anti-green rhetoric has proliferated, weaponising genuine worries about the affordability of green policies into an economic argument against net zero.
