8th May 2025
Throughout history, art has been a tool for the oppressed to fight back. From trade union songs to graffiti in protest at the atrocities of apartheid, people have always used art to challenge power. In this participatory workshop we will look at how music, painting, theatre and street art has been used by everyday people, activists and artists to resist oppression and demand liberation. We will also explore practical skills for how we can use creativity to fight for justice, because art does not just inform us about our collective histories – it remains a core part of our contemporary struggles.
Join us on May 28th, 5.30 – 7pm BST (over zoom) where we will:
- Explore how movements are fuelled by art.
- Provide practical training about using creative methods in our own organising efforts.
